Newmark acquired the Jam Factory in December 2015 with a view to unlocking significant value through the repositioning of the iconic but underutilized property and master planning its future development.

Throughout its period of ownership, Newmark undertook pre-development work and obtained a planning permit for the future development of the site in 2020. 

In 2022, Newmark, sold a 35% interest in the Jam Factory property to an entity associated with Gurner and Qualitas (GQ) and, at the same time, entered into a delivery agreement with GQ to progress the development of the site comprising retail, commercial and residential usesIn July 2024, Newmark sold the remaining 65% interest in the Jam Factory property to GQ.
