This key site in the Bourke Street Mall sets a new standard through the renewal of one of Melbourne’s most recognisable addresses, uniting historic architecture with contemporary design through a carefully considered adaptive reuse strategy by
Bates Smart. The project has preserved original heritage detail while reimagining the building as a vibrant mixed-use destination in the heart of the city.

Anchored by flagship retail and a leading creative agency, the building has been transformed into a cultural and commercial hub that strengthens one of Melbourne’s busiest retail corridors.

We are grateful for the conviction and support shown by our investors in 2020, when the asset was acquired during a time of uncertainty, and has resulted in one of Melbourne’s leading CBD projects coming to life. By blending historic character with modern amenity, the project preserves Bourke Street’s identity while creating a destination for today’s retailers, workers and visitors.

This milestone marks the culmination of a significant investment for Newmark Capital and its investors, delivering a fully leased asset with enduring value for the city and our investors.
